Overview
Why study in the UK?
The United Kingdom is home to some of the world's most prestigious universities — Oxford, Cambridge, UCL and Imperial consistently rank among the top 10 globally. A UK degree is internationally recognised and typically takes 3 years for a Bachelor's and 1 year for a Master's, saving both time and money compared to many other destinations.
Post-Brexit, Indian students remain the second-largest international cohort in the UK. The Graduate Immigration Route (the "Post-Study Work" visa) lets you live and work in the UK for 2 years after graduation — 3 years for PhD graduates.
The diverse, multicultural campus environment, world-class research output, and strong alumni networks make the UK a compelling choice for ambitious Indian students.

MSc (taught postgraduate)
Apply Jan–March for Sep intake
Most programmes open applications in October and expect you to apply by January–March. Some close earlier once scholarship funding is allocated.
Undergraduate (UCAS)
15 January · 15 October for Oxbridge
Standard UCAS deadline: 15 January. Oxford, Cambridge, and all Medicine/Dentistry courses require applications by 15 October — no exceptions.
Heads up on competitive programmes: some highly competitive MSc programmes fill their cohort well before the official deadline. If you're targeting Oxford, Cambridge or a ranked business school, apply before December and have all materials ready.
